My Life, My Story, My Opinions
I recently started using my Quickie R2 lately, i really like it! when you take the wheels off you can balance it on the front wheels and foot bar. this is really nice when getting in it, cause if u have to reposition your self you can let it sit there with out having to reach over to get a good grab on it. also, it has a bar right in the middle of the chair so when u grab it , it stays good balance when bringing it into the car. i recommend this chair for a para or quad that has good upoer body strength!
Well, I thought i should write a blurb about my Invacare Excelerator XLT, the first thing i will point out is the awesome color! yellow!
the bike rides good, 24 gears, needs a break adjustment as of now, and the gearing needs tuning or somthing. will try and get the bike in here in the next few months, with us going to be moving into our new house dont know when i can get around to getting it to the shop. One thing i dont like about it is how my legs sit, kinda outwards, and when i turn real sharp the wheel hits my pants, and which ever foot is on the inside of the turn, my heels hit the dirt! I dont like how the handpedals are, i have seen some other stlye of hand pedals, and would like to try them out, they looked alot diffrent and stuck way out. does anyone have one like this? mind telling me what your thoughts are? pictures are up at my picsa page. oh i also had my wife take a few pictures of my attempting my first solo transfer of the year, the brakes made me fail in this attempt. so check it out here
well, i thought i would write about my thoughts on the jay j2 wheel chair seat cushion, the one i have is a deep contour cushion, and has treated me very well! i have used one for all 10 years of being in a chair, and so far i will not try another one. why you ask? because i have NEVER, i repeat NEVER had a pressure sore! how awesome is that? well i never had one from a bad seat cushion, i got a small one when i rode atv for a week straight and it was really bumpy and the seat on it wasn’t the best! so thats why i got that one. but as for the wheelchair cushion, i recommend the jay j2 deep contour cushion for its maximum stability and awesome softness
well its been 3 days since i got the new j3 back rest, i like it alot, although it makes the middle of my back hot, where i cant feel, but i have yet to find a backrest that i don’t sweat in. My shoulder feels alot better, but when i woke up this morning it hurt so bad, but as soon as i was up against my wonderful j3 back rest, I felt much better within 5 minutes of sitting in it
so i love this back rest, and recommend it to anyone with a sore back!
Ok, so I finally got a new back rest for my wheel chair. It is a Jay j3 adjustable back rest. So far so good, my posture has improved incredibly. Now to see if my shoulder stops hurting as much as it has in the past. Result of my bad posture. Which is mostly caused of no trunk stability being I am a t3/t4 break. So I will be in this for at least the next week or two, and will let you know how my shoulder is doing and how I am liking the j3 wheel chair back rest.
